1 + 4 + 2 = progress
Two local (established! prize-winning!) authors agreed to meet me for coffee to talk about my book. They too had considered extending their hikes beyond familiar routes to complete all 885 km. of the Bruce Trail. Perhaps. Eventually. I offered them the strategy Pam and I considered, but never used. One car, four hikers, two sets of keys. Plan a hike. The driver drops two hikers (the A team) off at the starting point and then parks the car at the end point. These hikers (the B team) walk back to the starting point. All four hikers walk the same section of the trail, with one pair walking south to north, and the other walking north to south. At some point they meet, greet, and continue. When the A team reaches the car, they drive back to pick up the B team who will (hopefully!) be waiting for them. The prerequisite? TWO SETS OF KEYS.
